Cotton Patch Gospel is a musical by Tom Key and Russell Treyz with music and lyrics by Harry Chapin. Based on the book The Cotton Patch Version of Matthew and John by Clarence Jordan, the story retells the life of Jesus as if in modern day, rural Georgia. Using a southern reinterpretation of the gospel story, the musical is performed with an accompanying quartet of bluegrass musicians.

 

Looking for strong singers and actors. Casting at least five performers to play various characters plus one performer for the lead Narrator role.

 

Also seeking country/bluegrass style musicians who can also sing. Need guitar, banjo, fiddle, upright bass and mandolin players.

 

Please prepare one minute of a country, bluegrass or gospel song that demonstrates your range. Self-accompaniment and a cappella are acceptable. This is an upbeat, fun show!
